About Austin

Campground in Texas.

Austin's vibrant culture, live music scene, and natural beauty make it an exceptional destination for RV travelers seeking an authentic Texas experience. Located in the heart of Central Texas, this public campground serves as the perfect base for exploring one of America's most dynamic cities while enjoying the comfort of your own rig.

The Austin area offers an incredible blend of outdoor recreation and urban exploration. Lady Bird Lake winds through the city, providing opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, and scenic walks along the hike and bike trail that spans over 10 miles. The Colorado River offers swimming holes and water activities that feel refreshingly natural despite the city's bustling energy. Barton Springs Pool, a natural spring-fed pool that maintains a cool 68-70 degrees year-round, attracts visitors throughout the year and provides a unique swimming experience you won't find elsewhere.

Music lovers will feel right at home here. Austin's reputation as the "Live Music Capital of the World" is well-earned, with live performances happening in venues throughout the city every single night. From intimate clubs on Sixth Street to larger concert halls, there's music for every taste and budget. South by Southwest, the massive annual film and music festival, draws visitors from around the globe, though the city maintains this creative energy year-round.

Food enthusiasts will discover why Austin's culinary scene has earned national recognition. The city's food truck culture is legendary, offering everything from gourmet tacos to innovative fusion cuisine at prices that won't strain your camping budget. Local breweries have become gathering places for the community, with many offering tours and tastings. Farmers markets like the Downtown Austin Farmers Market showcase local produce and artisan goods.

The surrounding landscape provides excellent opportunities for nature lovers. Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park offers hiking trails with views of the city skyline, while nearby state parks like McKinney Falls provide waterfalls, hiking, and swimming. The wildflower displays, particularly the bluebonnets in spring, create stunning natural scenery throughout the region.

Whether you're interested in cultural attractions like the Texas State Capitol and museums, outdoor adventures, culinary exploration, or simply soaking in the city's laid-back yet vibrant atmosphere, Austin offers something for every type of RV traveler. The campground's location provides convenient access to all these experiences while offering a peaceful retreat at day's end.

We loved this quiet community. It was so pleasant to visit for a few evenings. We loved the spot we had near the playground for the our grandbaby to play. The entire community was so nice and clean. We'll be back and definitely will recommend to others

Such a great and convienent location. Secure and beautiful! Ample campsites and a great space for walking a dog! Close to so much and yet you don't feel your in a city inside this well maintained RV Park. I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend the Austin RV Park to others!

Customer service was excellent. Great location – easy access on and off I-35. The premise is clean. Love the concrete slab because that meant a cleaner floor. The pull through spots made in-and-out access stress-free. Will definitely return again.

The restroom is only equipped with one beautiful shower and one toilet, which is very inconvenient when 3 or 4 people need to use the restroom at a time. This is a beautiful RV park, very quiet , and the people are friendly. Happy camping...

If you’re looking for a long term stay, go somewhere else. The location seems convenient until you realize that the one way frontage road forces you into the construction traffic. The staff at this location is great, but if you ever need anything they can’t provide directly then you’re screwed. Sun Outdoors’ corporate customer service is abysmal. On top of that, they’ve recently been raising rates and implementing new hidden fees and making it harder to submit payments so they can charge you late fees. When this place was a mom and pop years ago it was great. The corporatists can ruin almost anything.

We were surprised at how much this park felt like a little neighborhood. The sites were a good size with nice grassy areas beside and behind the sites, making it feel fresh and cozy. Loved the cute little lighted walkway between the two parts of the park, with the large grassy area on the other side. Also like the coded entry gate for peace of mind. This was a great stay - so close to Austin and everything we needed.

Absolutely great place. Clean, secure, laundry on grounds, super clean shower house. Fantastic communication. We were WAY ahead of schedule for check-in due to hurricane evacuation. No issue, no additional charge for early check-in. We will definitely be back. Very fair priced. Level lots, great water pressure. Even shade trees!! Great job!!

Clean bathroom/shower. Be advised, this is the only one restroom for the park, but it was reasonably accessible. Great hosts. Good location. Quiet, gated, secure. Nice large clean gravel lots. Recommended.
