Very beautiful state park. One of my faves! Our hike was really fun and two miles flew by we were having so much fun! It’s also really pretty in November/December where you get to enjoy PLENTY of fall foliage 🍁 The park rangers are very friendly. Lots of choices when it comes to hiking trails, everything is so pretty you can’t go wrong.

Beautiful Texas State Park with lots of hiking options, which I really appreciate. The views are beautiful. I never saw it after the fires but from my uneducated eye, it seems to be recovering well. My photos are from a month ago. I bet it's even prettier in the fall. Lot's of history. Apparently there was a golf course here, in the past?

Did a lost pines loop on weekend. The north part of the trail goes deep into the forest. The South part is more on the open. A few CCC buildings on the route, a few people on the route. Very peaceful.

Really nice hiking trails. Very dry at the moment. Not far off the road, so there is some road noise. The staff here are really helpful and kind. We enjoyed our few days here, and will definitely stay again in future. We bugged out a bit early because of the freezing weather on its way.
