Okay, if you're expecting a well-maintained park with public bathrooms and parking directly next to the lake, this ain't it. Okay, if you're expecting a well-maintained park with public bathrooms and parking directly next to the lake, this ain't it. However, if you're up for an adventure and a little mystery, Rocky Creek Park is your go-to destination. You basically drive up to a fork in the road, where both directions are blocked by gates. You park on the side, then walk over the gate and up the road to get to the lake. Some of the roads have clearly not been paved for years, and all the buildings (including the bathrooms) are locked up and seemingly abandoned. Why is this so? What happened to the park?! It's a little eerie but also kind of exciting, as it feels like you have discovered a mysterious place no on has been to in a very long time (there were several groups here when I went, but it felt empty because of how spacious it was). If you go during the spring, you will see hundreds of wildflowers in every color of the rainbow. It's spectacular; the photos I attached don't even come close to capturing the beauty. There's a lovely little creek that runs into the lake where there are water birds and minnows. Overall I had a wonderful time here and would definitely come back during bluebonnet season next year.

I love a lot of Army Corp of Engineer lakes. I highly recommend getting the annual pass. You can use it at any of their lakes or reservoirs. They have parks and camping all over Texas!

It was quiet and nice place to walk! Not far from me and with the lake views and sounds. Not sure how it'll be when open, but we'll definitely be back

Does anyone know if the entrance is open or will I have to pay to get in?

Nice trails but the loop wasn't marked as well and we missed the turn. The water access was average due to some overgrown grass but still enjoyable.
