We were passing through & needed a place to stay for one night & this was the best option. Office staff were friendly when I called to make a reservation & when they called on the day of our arrival. Grounds around the campground are park-like, with several seating areas around the lake & a nice playground & firepit area. The restaurant was not open when we stayed. Grounds around the campground are park-like, with several seating areas around the lake & a nice playground & firepit area. The restaurant was not open when we stayed. The bathrooms & laundry facilities were very clean & well maintained. Dog park was also nice. It is the campground area that is lacking as the pull-through sites are very close. Many sites lacked a picnic table & ours had orange sized gravel; very hard to walk on. Our site had a significant downhill slope, but was good side to side. Back in sites looked like they had a bit more room, but some had their living area facing their neighbors. Wonky setup. Next year when we come through, we will try it again, perhaps in a premium site…

A nice, quiet place to stay for a short period. Pros include level drive thru spots, very nice bathrooms showers and laundry mat., and very nice fire pit area with wood available. Close to a very good restaurant!!! Cons, the sites are very close, crushed rock pads and streets, and no WiFi.

Loved staying here, very nice and peaceful. Shower house was clean and had everything you needed. The views of lake athens were beautiful. Theres a restaurant and general store. Also a large swimming beach

Great location on Lake Athens. Service is very good. Plenty of tasty options on the menu. The pimento cheese app is very good. The burgers are cooked perfectly. The chicken parm has a lot of flavor along with the zucchini noodles. The steak fries may be the best I've ever had. The bar area is a great place to watch weekend sports!

Spaces are too close together. Your neighbor's sewer is at your door. If you have dogs that enjoy the dog park, you will have to not only pick up your dog's duty but other people's dog's duty as well. Also, if your dog's duty is not picked up IMMEDIATELY, you will be asked to move your RV. Regardless of the weather.
