About Lost Gringo RV Park

Campground in Texas.

Lost Gringo RV Park sits in the heart of one of Texas's most captivating frontier towns, Terlingua, where desert landscapes meet rich cultural heritage and outdoor adventure. This RV park serves as an ideal home base for travelers seeking to explore the Big Bend region, a vast wilderness area known for its dramatic canyons, stunning vistas, and miles of hiking trails along the Rio Grande.

Terlingua itself is a fascinating destination with deep roots in the area's mining history. The town has transformed into a vibrant community of artists, adventurers, and free spirits who appreciate the authentic charm of a genuine Texas outpost. You'll find local galleries, unique shops, and restaurants serving authentic Mexican cuisine and regional specialties that reflect the area's cultural blend. The town hosts the world-famous Terlingua Chili Cook-Off annually, drawing thousands of competitors and visitors who celebrate this quirky tradition with genuine Texas spirit.

The location on FM 170 provides excellent access to Big Bend National Park, one of the most remote and spectacular national parks in the United States. Whether you're an avid hiker, photographer, or simply someone who wants to experience vast open spaces and stunning natural beauty, the surrounding area delivers in abundance. The park serves hikers, nature lovers, and those seeking solitude and authentic Southwestern experiences. Stargazers will find themselves in one of the darkest skies in Texas, perfect for night sky photography and astronomical observation.

The region offers year-round exploration opportunities, though fall and spring provide the most comfortable temperatures for outdoor activities. Summer brings intense heat, while winters are mild, making Terlingua accessible during most months. This is a destination for travelers who value authenticity over luxury amenities, who appreciate genuine community experiences, and who want to immerse themselves in the rugged beauty of the Big Bend region. Lost Gringo RV Park puts you exactly where you need to be for discovering why this remote corner of Texas captures the hearts of visitors from around the world.

Spent 6 days at Lost Gringo RV park and had an awesome time. The RV park is located close to restaurant, stores and the entrance to Big Bend National Park. The WiFi worked great, bathrooms were kept clean and the manager Spoons was very helpful and polite. Next time I’m in Terlingua I will definitely stay again.

We saw the milky way for the first time with our naked eyes and enjoyed absolute quiet when sitting out at night. We didn't have any issues with water, sewer, or electricity. We would stay again if we travel through area.

I do not recommend at all. The place is $42. Not worth it. It’s in a bowl of a hill. You hardly get service, if at all. It made me have to wait to leave or go outside until they left. The sewage port was sealed tight. Checked several other stations and they had the same issue until I found one that was broken open. Use another location.

This place is the cheapest in town for a reason and yet still highly overpriced! It is a very quiet spot and great star gazing, however your rv is parked right next to a junk yard with broken down rusting cars. The bathrooms were absolutely filthy. I’m not expecting resort type quality, but these bathrooms were seriously neglected. Hair everywhere around the sink and toilet and piles of dirt built up in the corners on the floor. Our electricity cut out in the middle of the night on our first night. We moved spots the second night and had no issues. There is no host on site, the only information you will get is an email with instructions to essentially park wherever. WiFi works half the time, we had no service otherwise. All of these things I mentioned I can live with, especially for a brief stay, but not for $42 a night!! Wildly overpriced in my opinion.

This is the second time I've stayed here. Good for a big rig. Not too flashy. Think dusty parking lot. Hookups worked as they should. There is no cell service in this little canyon. so don't expect it. The wifi was there No password provided. 4 phone calls I made to the number went unanswered. Not a text or anything else. Bathrooms can be smokey, but they are clean.
