Our stay at the Lucky Horseshoe was expected to be temporary. Over three years later, some thoughts: The dog run and walking trail are what drew us to this RV park. Over three years later, some thoughts: The dog run and walking trail are what drew us to this RV park. The free laundry room was greatly appreciated. The park was at capacity but it was quiet, neighbors friendly, no septic issues. We worked hard to keep our site, as well as the area behind us looking nice. I was often living alone, but I never experienced any concern. Management does a great job of keeping the grass cut throughout the park. The dog run is part of the septic leach field, and there have been a few issues with flooding/runoff. More recently, the park is about half-capacity. Many residents have boats, trailers or sheds/tiny homes. There have been incidents where car stereos are too loud, as well as golf carts, or residents playing music from their own sites. One weekend I was sick and trying to sleep. Someone parked their golf cart right behind our site, blaring Eminem. It seemed late to be contacting management, so I reached out via the park's private Facebook group- resulting in an hours-long exchange with a resident I didn't know, who said quite a few unkind things, including a threat to "come at him". Management addressed this, but I still felt uncomfortable. I had really great neighbors next door, but they recently moved. A resident wirh whom multiple people have had conflict, including us, was then allowed to relocate next to us from another site. I spent three years living next to a working couple who were away 12 hours/day. The new neighbor is retired, keeps the windows open even in the 95-degree summer heat, and plays music for hours on end. We lost our sense of peace and privacy. Instead of the birds, we heard the Beatles first thing in the morning, every phone conversation, every internet video watched. We had to change our entire routine, including our dog-walking route, where we took them to potty. I like sitting out in the sun to read, but not with a spectator and soundtrack. We had already begun taking steps to move out when I witnessed an altercation between this neighbor and another resident. Encouraging one's dog to "GET 'EM! GET 'EM!" while someone is passing by is not being a good tenant, or a good neighbor, or a good dog steward. The previous residents of this site lived there for five years, and had no pets. Multiple people pass by throughout the day, as this site is at the head of the nature trail. I would suggest that the owner/management consider avoiding renting that site out to tenants with pets, in the future, as it is the site at the trailhead, and is well-trafficked by people, their dogs, strollers, children, etc. If a person can't maintain proper control of their pet, be courteous and abide by the rules, perhaps being the tenant in that site is too much responsibility. The rain July 4th weekend once again overwhelmed the septic system, and dog run. The owner's insistence that "it's just ground water" being pumped out, well... that's not how those things work. There's an area back in the nature trail side of the park that could make a very nice dog run, one that doesn't double as the leach field, or back up to other neighbor's sites. That space could also be a good site for a small row of covered stalls, or storage units. They charge extra to park boats/trailers/have a shed on site anyway, so why not invest in providing a nice amenity for those things? We hadn't planned to leave, but we no longer felt comfortable with me living there alone. We had a really cute site and worked very hard to keep things looking nice. We were long-term residents that paid on time, and went above and beyond, but one person who claims to "know" and be a "friend of the owner" gets priority. Management does a great job, and I have no complaints- they work hard to keep the grounds maintained and things operating smoothly. I very much appreciated everything they do!

Prices are very reasonable and the lady that runs the place is always caring and understanding. The pistol range is a nice addition to get in some target practice. They always decorate for whatever holiday is in season. For long term they have a nice little mail room next to the front office. Their concrete spots have a nice little front porch spot perfect for sitting outside at night to watch the sunset and star gaze. The dog park in the back is always well maintained and the walking trails are always peaceful. The new basket ball/tennis gives the kids a nice place to be active if they don't feel like playing volleyball on the volleyball court. There are plenty of spots with nice shade as well to help keep that rv a little cooler from the Tx heat. I stayed here long term for almost 2 yrs while house hunting and would go back in a heartbeat.
