About Sunny Bastrop RV Park

Campground in Texas.

Nestled in the heart of Texas, Sunny Bastrop RV Park offers a welcoming retreat for RV enthusiasts seeking a blend of small-town charm and outdoor adventure. Located in Bastrop, a historic community known for its natural beauty and cultural heritage, this RV park serves as an ideal basecamp for exploring one of Texas's most distinctive regions.

Bastrop holds a special place in Texas history and geography. The area is famous for its striking landscape of loblolly pines, often called the "Lost Pines" because they're isolated from the main pine forests of East Texas. This unique ecosystem creates a refreshing environment quite different from other parts of the state, with cooler temperatures and shaded areas that make for comfortable camping even during warmer months. The Colorado River winds through the region, providing scenic views and recreational opportunities for water enthusiasts.

The town itself carries significant historical weight. Bastrop's downtown district features well-preserved buildings dating back to the 1800s, charming shops, local restaurants, and galleries that reflect the community's rich past. Visitors can explore the Bastrop Opera House, one of the oldest continuously operating theaters in Texas, or walk through the historic streets to discover local artisan shops and eateries. The area has become increasingly known as a creative hub, attracting artists and craftspeople who have added vibrancy to the community.

For outdoor lovers, the surrounding area offers exceptional recreational opportunities. Bastrop State Park is nearby, featuring hiking trails through pine forests, scenic overlooks, and access to the Colorado River for fishing, kayaking, and paddling. The park's trails range from easy walks to more challenging hikes, accommodating various fitness levels and interests. Birdwatchers particularly appreciate the diverse species found throughout the region, including native Texas birds and seasonal migrants.

The location makes Sunny Bastrop RV Park an excellent base for those traveling through Central Texas. Austin, the state capital, is approximately thirty miles away, offering world-class live music venues, museums, restaurants, and entertainment. Yet staying at the park allows visitors to escape the city bustle and enjoy a more relaxed pace while remaining close enough for day trips.

This RV park attracts a diverse crowd: families seeking outdoor recreation, couples looking for a peaceful getaway, retirees exploring Texas destinations, and travelers using it as a stopover point on longer journeys. The four-point-two-star rating from sixty-eight reviews reflects consistent positive experiences from guests who appreciate the location and hospitality.

Whether you're interested in history, nature, small-town exploration, or simply a comfortable place to park your RV while experiencing authentic Texas character, Sunny Bastrop RV Park provides convenient access to a region that captures the essence of what makes Central Texas special.

What a gem! Although still a bit rough since it's a very new park, the owners & management work hard to make things nicer every day. It's a delightful place, easy to reach town but separated enough for a country feel. We simply can't say enough good about the management - they are exceptional! And our neighbors were great! We'll be back very soon!!

We stayed for about two weeks and it was really great. Amanda in the office is very helpful and kind. The facilities (showers, laundry, & kitchen) were really clean and well taken care of and the park was always quiet. We would come stay again if we needed a place in the area!

From the community room with karaoke, to the rose bushes planted around the park, making it feel warm and, well, park like! This is a brand new RV Park and they have not skimped on anything! It’s beautiful! I love living here so much that I had my best friend move in and have another friend planning to move here over the summer from South Dakota. All three of us are very new to RV life and each wanted to down size and live a tiny home life style. And RV’s are perfect for that! This park makes me feel solid in my decision to go tiny. We are not missing out on anything by living tiny in this RV Park, and instead have so much more by living here. Come visit this place, you will not regret it!

I've lived at Sunny Oaks RV park for a month now with my two daughters. We love it here. The manager, John, is fantastic. I love renting from a family business. The rates are excellent. The showers, washing facilities and Community Center are very nice. We really enjoy game nights at the Community Center. The park has a peaceful country feel, but is close to everything (Bucee's, just saying).... I've lived at Sunny Oaks RV park for a month now with my two daughters. We love it here.
