The reflecting pool is lined with walking paths, perfect for photography and enjoying the view up close. To better understand the area, we did a self-guided driving tour of the historical markers. During sunset, the light and shadows enhance the beauty of the monument. The staff members are really welcoming and friendly. The museum's gift shop offers a beautiful selection of souvenirs.

Discounted admission for Seniors and Veterans, definitely worth a stop by if in the area to learn about Texas history.

This is a MUST visit for any history buff. Sooo much to see and learn at an affordable price, with free parking - but a couple takeaways: It is freezing cold inside. Bring warmer layers to truly enjoy. Everyone was complaining, I mean everyone. When outside - be ware of mosquitoes in grass areas. Stick to the trails. They have a documentary that’s 35 minutes long - totally worth watching! So... This is a MUST visit for any history buff. So much unbelievable info. Definitely go to the top and check out the views from all 4 sides. Even people afraid of heights will be okay at the top. Drive around to all the markers. Absolutely worth the short drive to understand the scope of the area and what happened where. This is an ongoing archeological site. They are learning more everyday and adding more to make it worth coming back to.
