I never really camped much growing up and the times I did, everyone else did all the work. After my divorce 6 years ago, I realized how much I wanted to get out in nature more and set a goal to take my kids on a camping trip with me. We finally made that happen and the last couple nights staying up at Maple Bench Campground were exactly what we needed! Our host, Sylvia was a huge reason why we had such an amazing experience. We befriended her and her daughters instantly and right away could see how awesome of a person she is! She cares about those around her and easily gives her time and attention making sure her campground and the people in it are taken care of. She let us build a little rock/fairy garden on her campsite, and even let us use her kayak and paddle board when we went to the lake. My 14 year old son and 11 year old daughter are constantly at each other's throats and usually don't play well with each other. I was a little worried that my daughter would have a hard time entertaining herself and get lonely. But while her big brother did his thing fishing, I was so happy she was able to have some new friends to play and swim with. Both my kids said it was the best weekend ever and even my boyfriend was impressed with how things lined up. When had gone up the Canyon planning to stay at Payson Lakes but all the spots were full. We drove around thinking we might not find anything available because of how busy it was, but finding camp 1 available at Maple Bench right across from Sylvia, the campground host... Was the best possible outcome! Thanks again for helping us create some awesome memories!

We absolutely loved camping here and can't wait to go back!! Storm was the best area manager, and was so friendly! Definitely don't forget to pack your bug spray for this trip since there is a creek nearby so of course there are plenty of mosquitos. We also loved that our site, (Sulphur Campsite) was right next to the Whiskey Creek Trail head.

Me and my son stayed at Willows campground on June 17 and 18 2024. The camp site and restroom was surprisingly clean and well maintained. The #6 site was a great spot for our hammocks and had plenty of space for tents. The camp host, Taylor, was very pleasant and helpful. My son wanted to go on a hike, and Taylor was able to make several good suggestions. My son enjoyed the hike Taylor recommended... Me and my son stayed at Willows campground on June 17 and 18 2024. The campground and lake is beautiful. Very peaceful and fun. The camp host Kelly Burdette is such an awesome guy. He is very helpful and thoughtful. He takes great care of the campground. The vault toilets are pristine. We had a blast camping, fishing, and exploring. We cannot wait to come back next year.

I ran into Kathi, the campsite manager and Eric who is in charge of the boat loop and they too were very kind to me. I can tell everyone here takes a lot of pride in their work, the entire campground is clean and well maintained, it's full of people that are caring and sweet and this has become my favorite place to camp. Thank you so much, Misty, Kathi, and Eric for making this a great experience for me! ❤️
