Navigate the waters and cast a rod in an adventure the whole family can enjoy. The Green River provides spectacular fishing and river-running opportunities, as well as unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art.The Green River Float-In campsites contain 17 sites for river goers to float and camp along the mighty Green River. Some of these sites can be reached on foot but most of these sites can only be reached by boat. The campsites are nestled alongside the beautiful Green River in an area typical of a high desert environment. These sites are surrounded by shady juniper, cottonwood and ponderosa pine trees and during the summer various species of wildflowers dot the landscape.Section “A” (Flaming Gorge Dam to Little hole Boat Launch) The A section of the Green River begins just below the Flaming Gorge Dam and proceeds seven miles through a narrow breathtaking canyon to the Little Hole take-out. The towering red canyon cliffs, ponderosa pine, glassy clear water, abundant trout and rapids (class I and II) are what make section "A" of the Green River world famous. The Little Hole National Recreation Trail allows foot access to all 7 miles of this stretch of river.Section “B” (Little Hole to Brown’s Park) It’s a little more remote but that means there are a lot fewer people, if that’s the experience you’re looking for. Limited access in this section allows for healthy brown trout populations to thrive. There are 17 river camps in Section B that can be accessed only by hiking or floating in. Remember to reserve your site on the camp registration board at Little Hole or reserve certain sites in advance here on recreation.gov.Section “C” (Browns Park to the Utah/Colorado Border) Section C is the longest of the three sections. It meanders through the high desert valley of Browns Park to the Colorado state line, with wide open features and a lot of flat water. It’s considered the best place to catch a football size trout on a dry fly, but it is also said to be the most challenging for fishing. The Green River offers excellent fishing for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. For more information on fishing the Green River, please visit Utah’s Department of Wildlife Resources website .

We stopped twice here; once on the way to NV and then coming back. Both times were a pleasant experience! The grounds are well maintained and the train wasn’t too much of a bother for us during the night since we are in a travel trailer. The staff were quite helpful each visit too. All that being said, it would definitely suck to have to pull up a tent for them to water the grass!

First time staying here last week with travel trailer. We were pleasantly surprised, campground is clean and quiet and is well maintained and managed by the on site staff. We didn’t think that the occasional train noise was that bad. Would definitely stay here again.

This campsite deserves five stars, not the four that it has. The bathrooms and showers were top notch and in very good shape. It's a great little Oasis in the desert.

The camp sites are nice. There are many trees to provide shade and soft grass to put your tent on. The bathrooms vary - there are some OK older ones and one nicer, newer set. The tiny homes are nice! They're new, clean, and well-maintained. Bring your own sheets, blankets, towels, and pillows. The tiny homes are stocked with hand soap and paper towels. Great campsite with water, bathrooms, a fire ring. We unfortunately heard a lot of noise from trains passing by at night.

Very nice campground—I was in loop C and got a nice site that had a lot of tree cover so it didn’t get extremely hot even though the high was 93. However, there are not a whole lot of camp sites in loop C that do have good tree cover, so I could see how that would impact peoples opinions. Flush toilets in loop C were small, but very clean. Will definitely stay again.

And the campsite was very well maintained. It was nice to kind of find this little bit of an oasis in the middle of Utah. With excellent access to Moab and the surrounding areas, this served is a really great home base for several days while we explored the area.

This campground and the host are amazing! The views are spectacular, the amenities are clean, and the water is easy to get to even if you don't have a waterfront spot. Not to mention, we thought we reserved our spot over Memorial Day but had the wrong weekend & the host had a spot she saved for mistakes like that! We were so flustered & felt so bad about the confusion but she took such amazing car... This campground and the host are amazing! We felt safe and were able to unplug here which is all I can ask of a campground and its host! 10/10 will be back again.

He spontaneously said that our camping experience at the Green River Campground ranked 9 out of 10 according to his history. He and I stayed two nights, July 11 and 12, truck and tent camping, our gear in the back of his Tacoma fitted with a camper shell. Adventuresome for a couple who have reached their early 70's. The camp-hosting was exceptional, activites available in the evenings, and multiple friendly visits to check-in with us and other campers; the facilities were clean and handy---nearby bathroom with stalls (no shower) and electrical outlets. The site for the campground is scenic, an oasis of green along the Green River, surrounded by sunwashed deserty earth colors. A couple of big cottonwood trees provided invaluable shade as late afternoon turned into evening. Good stargazing! Dinosaur National Monument dinosaur quarry is located a short drive away. We consider this experience a highlight from our summer.

Beautiful campground! Big campfire rings, nice picnic table, flushable toilets, and Potable water. Plenty of shade and right near the river. Heard an owl the entire trip. Saw frogs at night and lizards during the day. Coyote crossed the road in front of us. Dinosaur exhibit, petroglyphs, and rocks were really cool!!! The stars gazing was incredible!! Camp host was very nice! Would highly recommend... Beautiful campground! Big campfire rings, nice picnic table, flushable toilets, and Potable water. Plenty of shade and right near the river.
