Moab is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Utah weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Moab.
Don't miss local attractions near Moab. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

This place is fantastic and I wish they'd let me book the entire thing for a big ol' van campout like back in the day. Great access to all the nearby Mountain Bike trails, hiking trails, trail running trails, OHV trails, and general shenanigans. No shade though. Basic bathrooms.

Right next to the Navajo Rocks trail system, so that was nice to have easy access there. The campsite was fine. Not much shade anywhere though, so make sure you bring something to give you shade if it’s going to be hot out.

It was overall a good experience. If you're looking for shade, this is not the campground for you. But it's a good central location for a lot of major mountain bike trails. I'd camp here again.

Primitive campground on the outskirts of Moab. Not much in the way of shade, but a beautiful place to watch the sun rise or enjoy the sunset. A lot of folks will camp with RV’s while there, but we chose to tent it on a young men’s adventure. We were able to enjoy the beauty of Moab during the day, and head back to the seculsion of Lone Mesa at night.

Lone Mesa is a treat. It's outside the hustle and bustle of Moab and has direct access to great mountain biking, 4x4 trails, and hiking. Among many other things the bathrooms were extraordinarily clean, the group campsites were spacious. I feel like I should get a bulleted list of great things to say about this spot but I'll leave the rest to you to uncover for yourself. Go... Do... It...You won't... Lone Mesa is a treat.
