Moab is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Utah weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Moab.

This campground along the Colorado river is amazing. It's located in the middle of a canyon, by the road and the scenery is incredible. Very private and the sound of the river is calming. I had no cell service but I was okay with it, I was there to enjoy the nature and scenery. There is a bathroom, but no showers or sinks. Also, the campground is right by the road so if you were camping in a tent... This campground along the Colorado river is amazing. Also, the campground is right by the road so if you were camping in a tent or vehicle, you hear a lot of traffic at night going at high speeds. That was unexpected. You didn't think about a lot of traffic going down that windy canyon road, but it does. I slept in my Jeep, so I could hear it all night long.

Awesome spot along the river BUT our stuff was stolen. We paid for a two night stay. Left for the day and kept our leveling blocks and outdoor rug in our prepaid spot. Came back not only to our stuff stolen but someone in our spot. They moved when we showed them the tag indicating this was reserved hanging in the correct spot (how did they even miss this?) but our stuff is still mysteriously gone... Fire pits and picnic tables at each spot. Bring your leveling blocks though, the spots aren’t level. And don’t leave them, or anything of value, behind. Even though typically in ALL of these riverside camping spots, people leave their chairs/coolers/etc out to show the spot is occupied in addition to the tag.

Great campgrounds, close to the road but traffic is basically non-existent in the late hours which makes sleeping through the night not an issue. Vault toilets are clean. People respect the first come first served process.

Unexpected find. 20 bucks per night. Lesser known campground along Colorado river. Some road noises at night but generally quiet. Some campsites aren’t level so make sure to choose one that suits you. Overall a great place to base yourself for some Moab adventure!

The campground has absolutely amazing view of the river and clean pit toilets with a very active campground host. There are three sections to drinks, upper, lower and middle drinks but they fill up fast and are first come first serve. They are $20 a night and do not have any access to water. The best place to fill up your water container is at lions park down the street a few miles. This site gets...
