SFRA Loop J - Juniper Campground

2025 update: Not too much has changed at this camp. Still really dry. They did pave the extra car parking that was by the dumpster on the south side of camp which was nice. The skunks were really bad this year. you couldn't leave any food out at night ,including garbage bags or boxes of food, they tear into them. We lost 8 Twinkies and four fun size bags of chips and one night. Lake was nice and... 2025 update: Not too much has changed at this camp. Still really dry. There is running water and power outlets at all of the campsites. There are flushing toilets and showers. The lake was pretty high this year in 2022. So, it's not that far of a walk to get to the water from the tents. In 2021 the lake was 30% full. It was a good 5 minutes to get to the beach last year.

We sunk in the mud like it was quick sand trying to get out paddled boards into the water. I don't know if i is b/c the water level was so low, but it was quite the struggle. It was also windy and difficult to paddle all 3 days We were there. We rented JP16 n next to the restrooms & the smell was our overwhelming. 3 of us left with several wasp stings b/c there was a wasp nest under the stairs h...
