Did White Rim trail with a 4wd, clockwise, over 3 days (8-10 May 2024) - first night in White Crack, second in Taylor. White Crack campground is a perfect halfway spot of the drive. It's a bit a bit exposed to the elements, however the views are spectacular. Including the sky at night. You can walk around the cliff tops for more amazing views. Well maintained vault toilet is there as well. We had... Did White Rim trail with a 4wd, clockwise, over 3 days (8-10 May 2024) - first night in White Crack, second in Taylor. We had a visit from a park ranger (hi Sierra if you're reading this :) who was very friendly and helpful. This campsite is hard to book, however keep checking for cancellations - we picked this up only a couple of weeks before the drive.

We did not have windy conditions but other say this campsite can get quite windy. Little mice come out of the bushes at night and will get into your food, they are sneaky and quick, keep your food sealed and closed at all times! A backcountry reservation permit is required with the Canyonlands National Park office, plan in advance as this is approx. the halfway point on the White Rim Road and this site is consistently booked.

This is simply the best campground on the White Rim Trail. It is located about 3 miles off the main road and located on the point of the White Rim that overlooks the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers. Although, you can't see the confluence from the overlook, the panorama you'll have is perhaps the best in all of Canyonlands National Park.

Absolutely amazing. Plan on going back. It's very much off the beaten path, but the view of the stars is so worth it. There are rocks to use to stake your tent, so you'll be fine.
