Needles Overlook is breathtaking.. this is more than a place to stretch your legs. South on Hwy191. There are several BLM campsites that are in the area. I stayed here. Its an amazing place to spend the night. Continue diwn the road to see the overlook! Watch sunset, sleep then watch the desert come alive with the morning breeze.

Great campground, but pretty far from most area attractions. Partial shade for most sites. Lots of area to explore/climb behind the campground, including a dirt nature trail loop (accessible through the group site) with educational signage - don't miss it if you have 20+ minutes to spend! Vault toilets were clean. Water is available. No tent pads, but each site has a table and fire ring. Most site... Great campground, but pretty far from most area attractions. For our mid-May stay, we had some periods of sustained moderate wind in the evenings and at night, but also periods of total calm. We didn't stay at the group site but it looked really nice, set right up against the rock face. Would stay again.

Beautiful place with sandstone rock and a nature trail. The trail is only a half mile loop and very informative. This is definitely my go-to place.
