About DUCK CREEK

Federal campground in Utah.

Duck Creek sits nestled in the heart of Utah's stunning high country, offering RV campers an authentic forest escape far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Located in the Dixie National Forest, this destination provides the perfect basecamp for exploring some of the most dramatic landscapes in the American West.

The setting itself is remarkable. You'll find yourself surrounded by towering ponderosa pines and quaking aspens at elevation, where crisp mountain air and the peaceful sounds of nature create an atmosphere of genuine tranquility. The forest canopy provides natural shade and a cooler climate that many travelers appreciate, especially during warmer months. This is high country camping at its finest, where you can actually escape summer heat and enjoy comfortable nights under the stars.

The area around Duck Creek opens up a world of outdoor exploration. Nearby attractions include some of Utah's most iconic destinations. Cedar Breaks National Monument is within striking distance, featuring otherworldly hoodoos and colorful geological formations that seem almost alien in their beauty. The Markagunt Plateau offers excellent hiking opportunities with trails suitable for various skill levels, and the scenic byways in the region provide spectacular driving routes lined with viewpoints and photo opportunities. For those interested in geology and natural wonders, this region represents millions of years of earth's history written across canyon walls and mountain faces.

Anglers will appreciate the proximity to quality fishing waters. The surrounding streams and lakes offer opportunities to catch native trout species, making this an excellent choice for families or serious fishermen looking to combine camping with outdoor recreation. Wildlife viewing is also popular here, with possibilities to spot mule deer, elk, and various bird species throughout the seasons.

Duck Creek works well for different types of travelers. Families seeking a mountain camping adventure will find plenty of activities and natural attractions. Serious outdoor enthusiasts appreciate the hiking and exploration opportunities. Those simply looking to disconnect and spend time in nature will find the peaceful forest setting exactly what they need. This is definitely made for avid ATV people. I would not recommend if you are looking for a quiet retreat. The ATV trails are right next to the camp, there's a dirt company across the street, both cause lots of noise and dust. Walking trails are well maintained. easy walk into the village. Not a spot I'll park my RV again, pricy for the quality.

Perfect for spending a couple days exploring Cedar Breaks and the surrounding area. Easy online reservations and confirmation email. Nice gravel, #3 was a perfectly level site. Easy walk to the general store and restaurants, plus a nice trail through the forest to Aspen Mirror Lake. Lots of ATV traffic, but that's what a lot of people are here to do so it wasn't unexpected. Definitely recommend!

This was a nice place to stay with all the hook ups for the trailer/RV. Had wildlife walk right by our trailer door and also a short walk to a fishing spot. My daughters had a wonderful time exploring. Perfect for a base camp and then sight see from there. We did Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, Navajo Lake, Panguitch Lake and had a great time. Not too long of a drive! Beautiful Scenery.
