We stayed here in 2024 and it’s one that I want to return to. It is so beautiful out here. Several other nearby campgrounds were closed at the time due to bear activity so bring your bear spray! It’s popular too, so get there early! We thought we were early but ended up in the second to last campsite - which I also thought was the best one, right at the end. The camp host was super cool and told some bear stories while we paid for our site.

Nice campground, but it would be nice to have running water for $31/night. They have vault toilets (no lights in the bathrooms), a water spigot (nowhere to wash dirty dishes), and there is a dumpster (no bear boxes). The campsites are fine and most of them will fit a second vehicle, although you pay an extra $10 to have a second vehicle parked at your site. This is a dog friendly campground; dogs... The campground was very clean because Pam and her helper raked the ground, cleaned the fire pit, and removed all debris. It was truly pristine! She checked on me every day and I was so grateful because I was camping alone. The bathrooms were well vented and clean. And overall the place was beautiful, which is a miracle given the amount of people that traffic that area every day. With all her hard work I don’t understand how people don’t tip her cash for each day they spend, like you would a housekeeper. She works so hard. She should be given at LEAST $5 per person in your group, per day. She does way more than a housekeeper and she does it all with very limited help. Thank you so much Pam, for my beautiful, peaceful, safe, and divine stay! I am forever grateful and hope I can return VERY soon!

Bald mountain towers over the lake and offers a majestic photo opportunity. If you hike up through the brush on the north side of the lake, you will come across these beautiful lily ponds. It definitely doesn’t disappoint. As far as the campground is concerned, it is great. The only downside is the bathrooms. They are vault toilets and aren’t very clean. When I was there the water wasn’t potable, but that isn’t normally the case.
