About Spirit Lake Campground

Campground in Utah.

Spirit Lake Campground offers a serene escape into the natural beauty of Utah's national forest landscape, where towering pines frame crystalline waters and mountain vistas stretch endlessly across the horizon. Nestled in a peaceful setting that feels worlds away from the rush of everyday life, this campground provides the perfect basecamp for those seeking authentic outdoor recreation and stunning alpine scenery.

The campground's location within the national forest system means you're surrounded by pristine wilderness and well-maintained trails that cater to hikers of all ability levels. The lake itself is the crown jewel of the area, offering opportunities for fishing, paddling, and simply sitting back to absorb the tranquility of the mountain environment. Early mornings bring mist rising from the water's surface, while evenings showcase some of the most brilliant starscapes you'll experience, thanks to minimal light pollution and the high elevation location.

This destination appeals particularly to those who appreciate quiet contemplation alongside outdoor adventure. Families appreciate the relatively accessible setting that doesn't require extreme technical skills to enjoy, while serious outdoor enthusiasts find plenty of challenging terrain to explore in the surrounding backcountry. Anglers are drawn here for the opportunity to catch native and stocked fish species, and the calm waters also make it suitable for kayakers and canoeists seeking a peaceful paddle.

The area's elevation brings cooler temperatures during summer months, making it an ideal refuge from desert heat that dominates much of southern Utah. Wildlife viewing is another highlight, with opportunities to spot deer, elk, and numerous bird species throughout the day. Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a longer multi-week adventure, Spirit Lake Campground provides the natural setting and accessible location that makes for memorable RV camping experiences. The combination of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and the genuine hospitality of the forest environment creates an experience that draws visitors back year after year.

The actual area is beautiful (lots of flies, but you're camping...). Very busy on weekends. But the vault toilet was filthy and out of toilet paper 99% of the time. The flushing toilets for the cabins were also often out of tp. "Potable" water was yellow. Also be careful where you park. Some spots are for cabin renters, some for day use; but there are no signs telling you this and the host will g... The actual area is beautiful (lots of flies, but you're camping...). Went up here for a family reunion and had the whole place rented, it was amazing! Saw several moose in the meadow by one of the nearby lakes on a hike. The camp hosts kept the toilets clean and the lodge was nice. The hosts were super nice, accommodating, and helpful. Just overall great to work with. Would go back for sure.

It was a nice campground to ride in on a motorcycle and tent camp. The sites are a bit close together, and quite a few RVs. The road sin/out are gravel, so plan accordingly.
