About UPPER STILLWATER

Federal campground in Utah.

Upper Stillwater campground sits nestled in the heart of Utah's stunning natural landscape, offering RV travelers an authentic forest camping experience away from the hustle and bustle of developed commercial parks. Located in the national forest system, this destination provides a serene setting where towering pines create a peaceful canopy overhead and the gentle sounds of nature become your constant companion.

The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring some of Utah's most spectacular outdoor recreation opportunities. The surrounding national forest offers miles of hiking trails suitable for various skill levels, from leisurely walks to more challenging day hikes that reward adventurers with panoramic vistas. Anglers will find excellent fishing opportunities in nearby streams and lakes, where mountain trout eagerly bite throughout the season. The pristine water and rocky terrain create that quintessential mountain landscape that draws outdoor enthusiasts from across the country.

What makes Upper Stillwater particularly special is its authentic forest character. Unlike many developed RV parks with extensive amenities, this national forest campground emphasizes the natural setting and genuine outdoor experience. The relatively undeveloped character means you'll experience darker night skies, clearer air, and a genuine sense of remoteness while still having the comfort of your RV home base.

The location proves ideal for visitors interested in exploring Utah's natural wonders. The surrounding region features multiple access points to scenic drives, wildflower meadows that bloom spectacularly in summer months, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Photographers find endless subjects in the dramatic landscape, changing light, and seasonal variations. Families enjoy the safe, quiet environment perfect for children to explore nature and develop outdoor skills.

The cooler mountain elevation makes this an attractive escape during Utah's hot summer months, while the forest setting provides protection from intense sun and wind. Whether you're planning an extended stay or using it as a jumping-off point for regional exploration, Upper Stillwater delivers the authentic national forest camping experience that many RV travelers actively seek.

Beautiful campsites and very well maintained facilities made for a wonderful trip. The dam is a sight to behold, and the area has many stunning vistas and much to do. Campsites all have a very nice fire pit, a picnic table, as well as nearby trash pickup and drinkable water.

Very nice campground. Quiet because it's at the end of a box canyon. Clean restrooms with flush toilets. Several water spigots are available. There is plenty of space between most sites.

Excellent campground. There's flush toilets, most sites have either a designated tent pad or RV space. Some sites are a little close together, but there's plenty of shade.
