About Fort Bridger RV Camp

Campground in Utah.

Nestled in the heart of southwestern Wyoming near the historic town of Fort Bridger, this RV park offers an ideal base for exploring one of the American West's most compelling regions. The area surrounding Fort Bridger is steeped in history, serving as a crucial waypoint along the Oregon Trail and a hub for frontier traders and trappers during the 1800s. Today, visitors can experience this rich heritage while enjoying modern RV accommodations and easy access to stunning natural landscapes.

The location proves particularly appealing for history enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers alike. Fort Bridger State Historic Site, just minutes away, preserves the original trading post and provides fascinating glimpses into the era of mountain men and westward expansion. The museum and reconstructed buildings transport visitors back in time, making it an educational stop for families and anyone interested in American frontier history.

Beyond the historical attractions, the region offers exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities. The nearby Uinta Mountains provide excellent hiking, fishing, and scenic driving routes. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, located within reasonable driving distance, showcases dramatic red rock formations, pristine lakes perfect for water activities, and countless trails suited for various skill levels. The stunning landscape changes dramatically with the seasons, offering unique beauty whether you visit in summer for hiking and camping or fall for spectacular foliage.

The town of Fort Bridger itself is a charming, small community that gives visitors an authentic taste of rural Wyoming life. Local shops, restaurants, and services cater to travelers while maintaining the area's genuine character. The slower pace of life here contrasts beautifully with busier tourist destinations, allowing RV travelers to truly relax and disconnect.

This park appeals to a diverse range of travelers. History buffs will appreciate proximity to significant Oregon Trail and fur trade sites. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy access to fishing, hiking, and water recreation. Families benefit from educational opportunities combined with outdoor fun. Those seeking peaceful getaways find the quiet, scenic setting ideal for reflection and rejuvenation. Retirees often choose this area for extended stays, appreciating the reasonable costs and welcoming community atmosphere.

The four-season climate allows for year-round visitation, though spring through fall offers the most comfortable camping conditions and access to all outdoor activities. Summer brings warm days perfect for exploration, while winter snow transforms the landscape into a quiet, pristine wonderland for those equipped for cooler weather camping.

Really nice park. Spacious sites with lots of grass. Quiet. Park is very well maintained. Right next door to the Fort Bridger State Park which is a great place to walk around. It’s dog friendly too. Be aware that the owners of the park do not allow late check ins and check out is at 10:00. The owners are very friendly and take a lot of pride in their park. We would definitely stay here ag... This is a great place to stay. We've been camping through 13 state this year and they had the nicest bathrooms in all the campgrounds we've stayed at. The nearby town of Mountain View also has several places to eat and a great grocery store.

We stopped on a Sunday without a reservation. Tony greeted us and got us settled in. He was a pleasure to chat with. I can’t tell you how nice it was to use the showers here. There are 4 of them and they’re inside a modular type building. The common area has washers and dryers. There are only a few of them, but they’re coin operated and clean. They clearly take pride in the property and its decora... We stopped on a Sunday without a reservation. Tony greeted us and got us settled in. He was a pleasure to chat with. The spots are grass, which is different from the usual places we stay, but it worked; level. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I would wear bug spray though. Those mosquitoes are no joke.

Had the pleasure of staying here for a couple of nights! Lovely well maintained RV park with very ample spaced lots. One of the cleanest laundry rooms with private bathrooms/showers we've ever seen. Owners take pride in their park, camp host was very kind and helpful.

The sites are HUGE and offer ample space for kids and pets (pets must be on leash though). The whole park is beautifully maintained and feels very peaceful, pleasant and inviting. The facilities include laundry, toilets and showers, and they're also spacious and very clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they'll escort you into your site to get you positioned perfectly... The sites are HUGE and offer ample space for kids and pets (pets must be on leash though).
