Love the location, nature and plenty to do. I viewed this campground for rlcabin rentals. Lady who rents them out, told me there were none smoking and well kept. Upon viewing noticed cigarette burns throughout bedding and rugs. I smoke and you could tell someone boxed theirself up in the rental. I smoke and you could tell someone boxed theirself up in the rental. She also told me it was a deep clean after the last renter , and missed the black mold in the small bedroom from a leak. She toke me outside to show me there wasn't a leak...we found the leak together! I was just be diligent when you have a viewing with this lady. I did not appreciate getting lied to, just to point it out to her and show her "how I knew better." The only reason I will this review is in hope the management will together and fix the leaks issues atleast. That is a major health hazard that can quite possibly shut them down on the rentals.

To us, this is the true definition of a campground: peaceful, scenic, and welcoming. The facilities are clean and well maintained, which makes the stay so much more enjoyable. Everything about the setup here feels geared toward families and people who genuinely enjoy the outdoors. The amenities are thoughtful without being over the top, keeping the focus on camping rather than glamping. Nestled in a beautiful valley, the setting is picture-perfect. You’re surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and trees, which makes it feel tucked away and private, even though you’re just a short drive into Wytheville. The atmosphere is cool and calm—exactly what we needed as an escape from the hot, humid South Carolina weather. Nights here are quiet, mornings are crisp, and the overall vibe is pure relaxation. If you’re looking for a clean, family-friendly, and authentic campground experience, Deer Trail is it. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or looking for a getaway in the mountains.
