Campsites are really close together. Other than that it's a great place to stay. The Rocky Knob trail had some beautiful views.

My husband and I enjoyed a one night stay at the campground. We did not have reservations, but the nice park ranger helped us find a site and get registered. The restrooms do need more light or perhaps a cleaning of the skylight. They were clean. The campground was very quiet.

Fantastic views. We lived driving on the parkway and stopping at all the overlooks near our campground. It was also at least 15 degrees cooler than the Raleigh area where we drove up from. If you like to tent camp, I recommend the campgrounds, especially loop C, where generators are not allowed. If you RV, it seems like it would be a little tight to get one in, especially the larger ones. We saw s... Fantastic views. great overlooks and choice of trails. The 3-mile loop (blue blaze) is fairly easy and includes forests and mountain views with a very small stream crossing. The one-mile loop (yellow blaze) is a mild descent into the forest valley, 2 small stream crossings after it's rained (with stepping stones), across 2 meadows, and ends with an ascent back to the ranger station.
