To be totally transparent, I need to say at the start: we have been at this marina for 25 years, so you know how this review will likely go... As one of the older marinas on the lake, Satterwhite doesn't have all the fancy bells & whistles found at newer, larger marinas. But it does have a great staff of employees & ownership who are constantly improving & upgrading facilities. The dock store is very well stocked with snacks, drinks, ice, water toys, some basic boating supplies & ethanol-free gas. There is also a great inventory of casual lake clothing (t-shirts, hats, flip flops, etc.) & a very nice selection of lake decor items for lake homes or houseboats. There are 2 A-frame cabins available for rent & they are fantastic! Each boast large decks, huge charcoal grills, fire pits, fully furnished kitchens & TV/VCR/DVD with Directv. Though the cabins easily sleep 8 people comfortably, there's only one bathroom - so don't wait too long! 😁 No review of this marina would be complete without mentioning the 'residents' here. These boat owners come from every walk of life, every age & every level of boating experience. They all share an overwhelming sense of family with their fellow dock mates making this a fantastic community for everyone. Great location, great ownership, great people - yes, other marinas probably get the same accolades, but like I said: we've been here for 25 years...

I can watch the gas docks from my slip and on a busy weekend day I'm sure its frustrating trying to channel all that traffic safely from the dock...If you do something unsafe or stupid like tow a tube 50' behind your boat into a busy docking area, they'll probably let you know :)

Beautiful camping area, bring a fishing pole, kayak. Well kept area, clean bathrooms and shower house and unbelievable beautiful scenery. Research the area for the best camp site. Some are on a slope and close to other campers while other sites have more space and flat ground. Every site has a picnic table, fire pit and a water faucet near every site. Staff is wonderful.

I had water and electric, they are dog friendly, had nice, clean, level, area for camper, picnic table and campfire. Oh, and a pole for hanging a lantern. Loads and loads of trees, space between neighbors was nice too.

Absolutely the WORST experience at any NC campgrounds. Check in is 3 pm. We arrived at 3:05pm. Drove to site 41 which was reserved in advance. There was a truck with a boat trailer parked in our site. No one was around to ask if they knew who it belonged to. We took photos of the truck and boat trailer to show to the workers at the front gate. When we showed them, Miss Vicki called a park ranger.... Absolutely the WORST experience at any NC campgrounds. We waited at the gate for 30 minutes and no ranger showed up. We asked for a refund for our site since we could not access it. We were denied and given the number for the main office at Satter Point. When I called the office on the way home, I was told no refund would be given because it was after our check in time! I asked to speak to someone who was able to issue a refund because this was not of our doing. Had the Rangers who are employed by the state to enforce the rules done their job, no one would have been in a reserved site without proper tags on the vehicle. We were told that the truck had been out of our site an hour after we left to return home. They claimed it was gone prior to us leaving the campground, but that was false information given to cover for their mistakes. We will be proactively pushing to get a full refund. I would never recommend this site as they do not seem to have anyone willing to ensure the rules are followed to allow for all to enjoy this campground.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kerr Lake State Rec - Nutbush Area 1! The pictures on the site weren't accurate to the site itself because there was alot more beach in the picture but we enjoyed ourselves. The Park Rangers are very present. The campground isn't huge, and there are some sites right on the water. The bathhouse is what it is. Nothing great - hot water and a place to wash off. The lake... There is a park over in another section of the campground but not in Area 1. I think it was Area 3.

My family and I have been camping at Kerr lake since 2020. They have some of the most beautiful camp sites especially those close to the lake/ water front. Kimball has this beach atmosphere and several non electric sites on the beach. Hibernia has the best shower house as well as some really nice sites (63-65). County line and Bullocksville are my top 2 favorites.
