Has fridge, sinks, stove/oven microwave, dishes, pots, pans, glasses & silverware. 6 place dining table. Has shower/tub but must use solar shower since no water. Flushing toilet except November when porta potty is used. Picnic table with fire pit. We have Verizon & were able to get 4 bar 4G LTE but went down to 1 bar at times. Saw no mice but saw evidence in utility room which needs to be cleaned. Huge metal box in here & the fridge great for mice proofing items. Bring humming bird food as that seems to be a thing. It's reported this used to be a hunting cabin with airstrip nearby. Supposedly it turned into a drug distribution center & was seized by the gov. Could not verify this but when you stay look for the hidden space. FUN! The bad: There is a locked gate but there is a wide opening on the left allowing access to people on dirt bikes & 4 wheelers to ride to the cabin. 2 of 3 days this happened. Also was a hunter set up right by the cabin violating distance regulations. If you have this happen while you stay make sure you complain to the rangers like we did so they block the entrance more. People should not be able to bypass the locked gate. Fireplace closed until further notice. Not too much of a view due to clouds and trees. The queen mattress is SUPER firm. Bring a pad or air mattress. No ax or maul if you bring wood for fire pit. Porch swing is in utility room. Maybe the USFS will reinstall some day. Some light bulbs out or missing.

This cabin is a value for the price- it's huge, fully furnished and has a spectacular view (when it's not socked in by clouds). On the other hand, it is very rustic and relys on the renters to keep it clean after each use. Also, the drive up to it is a one-lane logging road and was a little freaky. If you like roughing it or tent camping, and are up for an adventure this stay will be no problem fo... Nicer than expected. Went in knowing there was electricity and a flushing toilet but no other running water. Brought a bunch of water with us. Very comfortable for a group of 7 for 2 nights. Beds-1 queen, 2 full, 2 twin. Kitchen-fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes, utensils. Nice living room with seating for 8, fireplace, games, books, puzzles. Top of the world location overlooking Elk Creek valley & views all around. Only need to bring drinking water -- water is available at Comers Rock campground. Big porch. Big living room. Lots of wildlife. Hiking trails. Fishing at Hale Lake. Or relax on the porch in the sounds and sights of nature.

NOT a cozy getaway in November! There are 2" gaps under both doors, and we were not able to get it above 50F with fire blazing, space heater, and oven door open! And it is VERY isolated. Our truck's alternator failed on the access road with no cell service. Some passing hunters towed us up to the cabin, where there were 1-2 bars of Verizon service to call AAA.
