This is a very quiet area with lovely horse trails and lots of history. The extremely large picnic shelter is made from solid logs and boards that you can no longer find to buy. There are also restrooms at the trailhead and plenty of parking for horse trailers and large group gatherings.

Wonderful area. The boardwalk over the fishing pond is a great addition. Very clear water. The waterfall and swimming area just SW of the pond is very picturesque. The hounds went in for a dip in a warm December day.

Found it on accident. I was hunting up the mountain side and could hear noises of toads and what an area that has body of water sounds like. I stumbled upon this ran back up the hill, put the gun away had some fishing rods in the truck and was curious if anything was in the water. Didn't take long to get a bite 🤷‍♂️

One of my favorite hikes. Great with kids and a easy on the body.. So many varied sights to see. This time it had a colder microclimate and a tree had broken a bridge so we were not able to see the falls. That was sad. I hope they can fix it soon so we can come back.
