An absolutely beautiful Forest Service campground north of Highway 20. Quite ample amenities for the type of campground. One could complain about the price, however, given the quality of the park in campground area that complaint is negated. Strangely enough fishing is better at night.

Beautiful park. My boys and I swam in the lake and it the morning and evening you can hear the loons in the lake. I didn't fish but I've never seen so many fish jumping in a place in all of my life

There is a fishing dock, as well as an additional swimming dock. There are water spouts throughout. In addition to the vault toilets, there is also a "comfort station" which has running water and flushable toilets. While there isn't a dump station for your RV, there is a place to empty your grey water. Most spaces are first come, however the South loop spaces can be reserved. There is a small store at The Bonaparte Resort, located right next door. They also have a restaurant and available showers for a fee. We will definitely be back again!

I wish all campgrounds were like Bonaparte Lake. It’s like stepping back in time. Jim the camp host is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. The loons on the lake are special. The Bonaparte Resort next door serves three square old home cookin’ meals. Prime rib Saturday’s serve more food than you can handle.
