Such a great out and back camp spot to get into back country camping. The hike is not strenuous at all. The sites are very pretty and there is a lake near by to pitch a hammock and relax. There are bears in the area and we saw one on the way back so make sure to have your bear spray. Highly recommend this camp spot!

Summerland Camp sits right at the tree line, at the junction of lush greenery and snowy tundra. The fairly strenuous uphill hike there takes you past waterfalls and meadows, which should have many flowers very soon. There are campsites, a group site, and restrooms.

The campsite is quite scenic. The wooden cabins are small and not too big. There is a water supply nearby. If you walk to Indian Bar, you have to cross the panhandle gap, which is over 2,000 meters high. It takes a lot of mental and physical effort.
