About Cascadia Marine Trail Campsite - Blake Island

Primitive camping available for those arriving via human powered boat. Water available in Summer, from nearby spigots.

Blake Island offers a unique and memorable RV camping experience in the heart of Puget Sound, accessible only by boat. This public campground provides a rare opportunity to escape the mainland and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest while still enjoying convenient access to the Seattle metropolitan area. The island's pristine waters, forested landscapes, and marine environment create an unforgettable backdrop for your camping adventure.

The Cascadia Marine Trail Campsite welcomes visitors seeking a more adventurous camping getaway. The island setting means you'll experience a true sense of isolation and tranquility that's increasingly hard to find. The surrounding waters of Puget Sound provide stunning views and opportunities for water-based recreation. Whether you're watching the sunset over the sound or waking up to morning mist rising off the water, the maritime atmosphere here is simply incomparable.

Blake Island's strategic location makes it an excellent base for exploring the greater Puget Sound region. The island's natural setting supports diverse wildlife and vegetation typical of the Pacific Northwest, with dense forests and coastal ecosystems. Birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts will appreciate the variety of species that call this area home. The peaceful environment is ideal for those looking to disconnect from urban life and reconnect with nature.

The campground appeals to RV enthusiasts and boaters who embrace the adventure of reaching their destination by water. This adds an element of excitement to your camping trip that distinguishes it from traditional RV parks. It's particularly popular with experienced campers, water enthusiasts, and those seeking authentic Pacific Northwest wilderness experiences. The intimate setting and natural beauty make it perfect for couples, small families, and groups of friends looking for a special getaway.

Proximity to the Seattle area means you can combine your island retreat with visits to local attractions, restaurants, and cultural sites when desired. The unique access requirement ensures a quieter, more secluded experience than many traditional campgrounds, making this an ideal choice for those prioritizing peace and natural beauty over convenient highway access.

Absolutely the best sand beach in the area! Great for a day at the beach or camping in primitive sites. The whole island is a park with trails to explore the forested inland and coves and beaches all the way around. The Tillicum Village has traditional crafts, traditional salmon bake meals, and traditional shows to share the old ways of the Salish natives. Worth educating yourself through this... The whole island is a park with trails to explore the forested inland and coves and beaches all the way around. The Tillicum Village has traditional crafts, traditional salmon bake meals, and traditional shows to share the old ways of the Salish natives. Worth educating yourself through this privileged and pricey access to the less seen and less appreciated 1st Nations culture. Near the village there is a small harbour where both private boats dock and a daily tour boat brings a literal boat load of tourists over from Seattle to have a traditional salmon bake meal and show, and shop for unique gifts. If you come this far, visit the village as well as the trails and beaches around the island. It is a wonderful place full of nature and spirit! Enjoy!
