Pros: Lake is a good source of water. Campsites are dispersed over a wide area, and paths ensure campers don’t have to walk through neighbor’s campsites. Tent sites are mostly duff, so tent should stay reasonably clean. Terrain is hilly, so each site is unique. Cons: Suitable tent sites are small for anything but a 1 person tent, and they’re off level enough for sleeping pads to slide downhill ov... Pros: Lake is a good source of water. I've hiked most of our National Parks. Deer Lake is a nice destination for lunch or camping. HOWEVER, the trail condition is terrible. The hike up to Deer Lake is only approx four miles, BUT the elevation gain is 1700ft. Due to the uneven, unstable rocky trail, the hike is damn near twice as difficult. Your knees and ankles will pay the price. Continuing past Deer Lake, the trail up to Seven Lakes... I've hiked most of our National Parks. Deer Lake is a nice destination for lunch or camping. Continuing past Deer Lake, the trail up to Seven Lakes Basin is much better since it's not as steep or rocky. You've been warned ⚠️

Great as a destination for a day hike turned overnight backpack. Low on views unless you head up to the ridge but the lake itself is beautiful!

Tough & steep hike for a scenic, but not spectacular, lake (especially considering the lack of solitude). Still.. we did see deer, and the meadow is pretty

Our family with little kids loved this resort! Spotless, cozy cabins, a kid-friendly beach, and great lake access for boating made it perfect for summer fun. The friendly staff, fresh locally roasted coffee, and daily ice cream runs added to the enjoyment of our stay. We’ll definitely be back with family and friends for summers to come!

We had a bit of a rough experience. We booked 2 nights in a standard campsite but after arriving and being overtaken by yellow jackets and hornets we packed up and left after the first night. There was no bee traps in the entire area and our trash can didn’t even have a lid to help prevent more bees. The tent sites are so close together and despite us being told only 1 tent per site when we called... We had a bit of a rough experience. The tent sites are so close together and despite us being told only 1 tent per site when we called before booking, people next to us had 3 tents in their spot and A LOT to say, all night long. I wouldn’t suggest this for families with little ones like we do. The swim area and mini golf areas are beautiful and well-maintained, though we didn’t stay long enough to actually swim. I’m bummed at the experience for the price we paid and likely will not give it another go in the future.

Boat launch fee of $20 is a bit high. The launch is OK but could use some maintenence. Staff are great. The store is nice too.
