About John Wayne's Waterfront Resort

Campground in Washington.

Nestled along the scenic shores of Sequim Bay in Washington's Olympic Peninsula, John Wayne's Waterfront Resort offers RV travelers a gateway to one of the Pacific Northwest's most enchanting coastal regions. The location puts you in the heart of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where mountain views meet maritime charm and outdoor recreation opportunities abound year-round.

Sequim itself is a welcoming coastal community known for its mild climate and abundant natural beauty. The town has earned a reputation as one of the sunniest spots on the Olympic Peninsula, receiving significantly less rainfall than surrounding areas. This makes it an ideal destination for RV travelers seeking reliable weather during their Pacific Northwest adventures. The waterfront setting provides immediate access to beach exploration, tidal pools, and opportunities to observe local marine life in their natural habitat.

The Olympic Peninsula surrounding Sequim is a treasure trove for outdoor enthusiasts. Within reasonable driving distance, you'll find the majestic Olympic Mountains, pristine forests, and several state parks perfect for hiking, wildlife viewing, and photography. The area's natural landscape ranges from temperate rainforests to alpine meadows, offering diverse experiences throughout the seasons. Birdwatchers will particularly appreciate the region's status as a critical migratory corridor along the Pacific Flyway.

For those interested in regional attractions, Port Townsend lies nearby with its Victorian architecture and maritime heritage. The charming downtown areas throughout the peninsula feature local restaurants, galleries, and shops showcasing Pacific Northwest artisan work and fresh seafood. The quieter pace of small-town life here contrasts beautifully with the outdoor adventures available just beyond your doorstep.

Water-based activities define much of the recreational appeal in this region. Boating, fishing, and kayaking enthusiasts will find plenty to explore, while beach combers can search for shells, sea glass, and driftwood along the shoreline. The calm bay waters make this particularly suitable for families and those new to water recreation.

This location appeals to travelers seeking a peaceful waterfront retreat without sacrificing access to diverse outdoor activities, making it an excellent base for exploring the Olympic Peninsula's natural wonders.

Friendly staff and amazing location. Be ready for some wind at times. Sequim bay is beautiful. Discovery trail is within walking distance. Check out Port Williams for a good low tide beach walk. Sunrises can be spectacular.

Sweet quaint cozy cabins close to the John Wayne Marina. Spectacular views and bunnies that visit, which was sweet, reminiscent of my childhood. I would recommend. Thank you
