Sequim is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.

This is an amazing hidden gem. We took the hard way in from switchback trail and were able to make a day hike out of it. Getting there is no easy feat due to the elevation and rough trail descending into the campground, so take your time. The views are stunning when the fog lifts and the water is crystal clear. The lunch I took by the side of the water will forever live in my memory. The campgroun... This is an amazing hidden gem. I went in late august and it was very comfortable with no bugs.

The road up was full of black ice. People need to recognize this before it's too late. It's not just shiny black asphalt. Saw someone getting towed out of the ditch on the way back. anyway, the trail is in great condition. there's packed snow about 3/4 of the way there. no spikes necessary. The lake was beautiful. Beautiful lake! Was the first stop on a two day hike for me. The view from the ridge was just awesome. Pretty clear weather, the few clouds hanging around just added to the epic nature and atmosphere. I met some really friendly goats. First two were a mom and her kid came right down the trail toward me. I saw many more. What I know now is they are invasive. That may be but they really made... Beautiful lake! There are plans to relocate them so check them out while they are still in the area. When I did my loop there was some primitive trail that was eroded on steep slope very badly and quite dangerous.

The lake is beautiful and worth the hike. Good amount of camping spots with different levels of privacy. No restrooms or running water, but there was some cell phone service as it's close to Port Angeles. Lots of mosquitoes

A beautiful lake with an island in the middle. Sometimes people camp there. The campgrounds are nestled in the forest and there are paths throughout.
