The poor campground has been battered by recent storms. Lots of blowdown and the noticeboard was also buried beneath a tree. It took a while to find the trailhead but I had a glorious hike nonetheless.

I want to start off with saying this CAMP GROUND IS MEANT FOR OLDER INDIVIDUALS is what the host told us, as well for single families. I want to start off with saying this CAMP GROUND IS MEANT FOR OLDER INDIVIDUALS is what the host told us, as well for single families. Not for group families our family payed $45 each night Sunday night thru Tuesday night. The host was very peaky with us from being TOO LOUD TO hearing our kids run from spot 5 to her camper. On top of that the site we got which was #5 was for 12 people with ONLY 2 Vehicles allowed. Our family is big so other family members got sites 2,3,4 with only 1 Vehicle allowed in each site she came and charged us for the extra vehicles. SMH on top of that the wasps are crazy there we had them flying all over our campsite all day! We also ran into a wasp hive that our family members ended up getting stung! All kids where traumatized we have camped in other camp grounds never any sort of issues. I would not recommend this place there is really nothing to do the river is not even deep enough for swimming the wasps are crazy when having food out ! Host is some what nice . We would’ve really appreciated seeing some sort of information on regards of this campground, being just for older or single families as well as how bad the wasps are around this campground. It’s not worth the drive nor the money we spent here.

Panther Creek CG, Gifford Pinchot NF, WA 960’ $25/night Plenty of trails to the water. Nice paved campground with 34 sites. The vaults were well maintained. There are a few beaches in the area and places to play in the water.

My stay was quiet as there were many empty, but reserved spots. The sound of Panther Creek was very pleasant and the sun was peeking through the thick forest. My camp spot was ample with a firepit and table. The camp pad was large. There are only vault toilets, don't forget wipes and hand sanitizer. The camp host was very pleasant, respectful, and helpful. I enjoyed the peace of no cell service,... My stay was quiet as there were many empty, but reserved spots. We reserved several dates for tent camping over the summer. Our first stay was pretty good with no issues other than excessive rain. There is no cell service which didn't bother us, it was nice to teach the kids old fashioned ways of doing things. The host person checking sites was nice and friendly with lots of information for first time guests. The drive is far if you don't live in southwest W... We wish there was closer campgrounds with similar pricing near the Vancouver, WA area which we have yet to find.
