About Snow Peak Campfield

Campground in Washington.

Nestled in the heart of Long Beach, Washington, Snow Peak Campfield offers a serene escape into the Pacific Northwest landscape. This public campground serves as an ideal base for travelers seeking to explore one of the region's most charming coastal communities while enjoying a peaceful camping experience surrounded by natural beauty.

Long Beach is renowned for its expansive sandy shores, stretching for miles along the Washington coast. The beach itself becomes a destination for many visitors, offering opportunities for leisurely walks, beachcombing for shells and sea glass, or simply sitting back to watch the sunset paint the sky in brilliant hues. The area's temperate climate and relatively mild weather patterns throughout much of the year make it accessible for extended camping trips without the extreme heat or cold found in other regions.

The location puts you within easy reach of numerous attractions that appeal to diverse interests. History enthusiasts will appreciate the Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, one of the oldest lighthouses on the West Coast, which offers stunning views and fascinating maritime history. The nearby Lewis and Clark National Wildlife Refuge provides excellent opportunities for birdwatching and nature observation, particularly for those interested in spotting eagles, herons, and other coastal wildlife. The town itself features charming shops, local restaurants, and galleries that reflect the character of this authentic coastal community.

For families, the area offers beach activities suitable for all ages, from building sandcastles to exploring tide pools. Outdoor enthusiasts will find excellent conditions for fishing, both from the beach and in nearby waters. The relatively uncrowded nature of this destination compared to more commercialized coastal areas means you can often find peaceful solitude while still having access to quality amenities and attractions.

The Long Beach Peninsula itself is a destination worth exploring, with quiet roads perfect for scenic drives and small communities nearby that offer authentic local experiences. Whether you're seeking a relaxing beach retreat, a base for outdoor adventures, or simply a place to unwind and reconnect with nature, Snow Peak Campfield provides convenient access to everything this distinctive corner of Washington has to offer.

I rented a cabin here with a friend and it was cool, mostly nice but it wasnt really the experience they advertise. The whole location is right off of a main road so you can still hear the traffic, The cabins are actually very close together, and there was a loud obnoxious group of boys drinking at the hot pool making inappropriate comments about the women there. I tried to play my crystal singing... I rented a cabin here with a friend and it was cool, mostly nice but it wasnt really the experience they advertise. I tried to play my crystal singing bowls off the back deck of my cabin before we checked out but they were cleaning cabins early and loading up trailers which was a lot of clanging and banging so it wasn't really as peaceful or enjoyable or tranquil as you might think it's going to be. 😬

It happened to be a Friday, and the shop was open quite late, so we were able to go inside and explore a bit. The place feels very well set up. The shop is well stocked with all kinds of outdoor gear and food, and they also offer hot drinks like coffee and tea. That said, the temperature in late December was quite cold, so it didn’t really feel like ideal weather for tent camping. Staying in one of the cabins would probably be much more comfortable. We were really impressed by how friendly and helpful the staff were. When we explained that we didn’t have a reservation and just wanted to look around, the front desk staff was very welcoming and gave us a map and directions to the shop. Inside, there’s a large fireplace and plenty of seating areas where people can relax. If you were actually staying here, it would definitely feel more like glamping than traditional camping. They also have a spa on site, which unfortunately we couldn’t access as day visitors, but it looked very nice from what we could see.

We had a great experience. We brought our own tent and camping gear and rented a few items there. If you don’t have much camping experience or equipment, I’d recommend renting some of their gear, though it is a bit expensive. The hot tub and sauna were nice, and the coffee shop was very comfortable

As a longtime Snow Peak user, I made time to visit this place, but since the forecast called for rain all week, I skipped camping and instead spent time at the store café, having coffee and tea while browsing inside the shop. Because I had to head back through Portland, I didn’t purchase any products here. There are cabins, glamping sites, and tent sites available, offering different styles of camping. One drawback is that you have to park in the lot and use a handcart to carry all your gear to the campsite. However, this also means cars don’t drive through the grounds, creating a more pleasant camping environment. The glamping and tent sites built on land rock seemed rather close together, while the cabins were more separated but came at a steep price. It would have been a better choice to make camping more affordable, naturally promoting the brand and fostering community, which felt like a missed opportunity. There’s a short trail that blends beautifully with nature and is great for walking, but the constant barking of two Labrador Retrievers behind the neighbor’s fence next door was a bit disappointing.
