About Foggy Dew

Federal campground in Washington.

Nestled in the heart of Washington's stunning national forest landscape, Foggy Dew offers RV campers an authentic retreat into the Pacific Northwest's natural beauty. This national forest campground serves as an ideal basecamp for travelers seeking to explore the region's dramatic mountain terrain, pristine waterways, and dense evergreen forests that define this corner of Washington state.

The area surrounding Foggy Dew is characterized by the rugged charm typical of national forest settings. Towering Douglas firs and western hemlocks create a canopy overhead, while the forest floor hosts a rich understory of ferns, berry bushes, and native plants. The campground's elevation and forest location mean that mornings often arrive wrapped in the mist that gives this destination its evocative name, creating an atmospheric experience that transforms the camping adventure into something truly memorable.

RV visitors will find Foggy Dew particularly appealing for its proximity to some of Washington's most cherished outdoor recreation areas. Hiking enthusiasts can access numerous trails ranging from leisurely forest walks to challenging alpine adventures. The national forest contains pristine lakes and streams perfect for fishing, kayaking, and simply enjoying peaceful water-based recreation. The location works wonderfully for families looking to disconnect from urban life while maintaining accessible outdoor activities. Whether you're traveling with children who are beginning their camping journey or you're experienced RV explorers seeking a quieter alternative to busier campgrounds, Foggy Dew's national forest setting provides that perfect balance of natural solitude and recreational opportunity.

Those planning extended stays will appreciate the area's four-season appeal, with each season offering distinct advantages. Summer brings comfortable temperatures ideal for hiking and outdoor activities, while fall transforms the forest in brilliant colors. Small campground with quite a bit of active m/x bikes and horse riders passing by. Restrooms are a bit rough. Not maintained right now. Trails are fairly close by too..

Great little campground. Only 4 or 5 sites but the are spaced far apart. Small creek on both sides. Relatively clean vault toilets. Quiet and out of the way. Good camping option for those on the WABDR.

5 sites, with plenty of room for multiple cars per site. Best sites are down near the bottom of the loop at the confluence of the two creeks. Very private, couldn't hear or see anyone from the other sites after dark.
