Lake Kachess Campground is a peaceful, forested retreat nestled along the shores of a stunning alpine lake. Just off I-90, it’s easy to reach but feels miles away from everything. The campsites are spread across shady loops, offering plenty of privacy and space for tents or small RVs. The lake itself is crystal clear—perfect for swimming, kayaking, and fishing—with mountain views that make early mornings feel magical. There’s a family-friendly vibe, and trails like the Lakeshore Trail are great for casual hikes. While amenities are basic (mostly vault toilets, no hookups, and spotty maintenance), the natural beauty more than makes up for it. Be ready for chilly nights, limited cell service, and potential fire restrictions in summer. If you’re looking for a quick escape into nature without going too deep into the backcountry, Kachess hits the mark.

Beautiful campground, the site are always perfect. Quick access to the lake depends on which campsite that you book. The woman who greeted us at the booth was very knowledgeable and it was exciting to hear that they had a store on site any necessities you may have forgotten. This lake is stunning.

Loved this campground! The spots are very spread out. The toilets flush and were always well kept up. The lake was about a 5 minute walk! Will definitely be here again!

Camp spots are big and well maintained. Big enough for at least 3 good sized tents. The lake is beautiful as well as the mountains surrounding it. Other than no electrical hookups the site is perfect. We will definitely camp here again. Also as a bonus two F-15s do low flyovers daily in the early afternoons. Spectacular sight and sounds.
