About Summit Lake Camping Area

Campground in Washington.

Summit Lake Camping Area offers a peaceful retreat nestled within Washington's national forest landscape, providing RV campers with an authentic outdoor experience away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, this campground serves as an ideal base for those seeking to explore the region's natural beauty while enjoying the comfort of their mobile home.

The camping area sits at a elevation that offers cooler temperatures and crisp mountain air, making it particularly appealing during the warmer months when lower elevation campgrounds become crowded. The setting provides access to the kinds of scenic vistas and outdoor activities that define Washington's reputation as a premier destination for nature enthusiasts. Forest surroundings create a serene atmosphere where visitors can disconnect and reconnect with nature, whether they're seasoned RV travelers or families embarking on their first camping adventure.

Outdoor recreation opportunities abound in the surrounding national forest. Hiking enthusiasts will find numerous trails ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging day hikes, while fishing opportunities in nearby lakes and streams appeal to anglers of all skill levels. The area's natural environment supports wildlife viewing, photography, and nature study. Picnicking at scenic spots and simply enjoying the peaceful forest ambiance are equally rewarding activities for those seeking relaxation.

The national forest setting means campers are surrounded by undeveloped landscape, though the camping area itself is organized and accessible for RV use. This combination allows visitors to experience genuine wilderness while maintaining reasonable comfort levels. The location works well for families looking to introduce children to camping, couples seeking a quiet getaway, and experienced RV travelers who appreciate the simplicity and natural beauty of national forest facilities.

Summit Lake Camping Area attracts visitors year-round, though seasonal conditions should be considered when planning trips. We camped here for a night after all other camp grounds around the area were totally full. It was beautiful and there wasn't another person around for miles. They have a bathroom, potable water is available about 10 miles away if needed. The only reason we didn't stay longer was we were looking to fish and this lake does not have any fish in it at all.

Loud stereos, motorboats, jet skis and a ton of children running through the campgrounds. There's really nowhere to go or hike to from here and with the roads open again there's no reason to stop.
