About White Pass Lake (Leech Lake) Campground

Federal campground in Washington.

Nestled in the Cascade Range of Washington, White Pass Lake Campground offers RV travelers an authentic Pacific Northwest camping experience surrounded by towering evergreens and pristine natural beauty. This national forest campground serves as an ideal base for exploring one of Washington's most picturesque alpine regions, where mountain meadows meet dense coniferous forests and crystal-clear waters reflect dramatic peaks.

The campground sits at an elevation that captures the essence of Washington's high country, providing relief from summer heat while delivering those crisp mountain mornings and cool evenings that make camping memorable. The setting is perfect for those seeking to escape crowded tourist destinations and immerse themselves in genuine wilderness. The nearby lake waters invite fishing enthusiasts, swimmers, and paddlers to enjoy recreational activities in a serene setting where wildlife viewing is common and the pace of life slows considerably.

What makes this location particularly appealing is its accessibility to the broader White Pass area, which has become increasingly popular with outdoor enthusiasts. The region offers excellent hiking opportunities ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging alpine trails. Mountain biking trails crisscross the area, and during winter months, the region transforms into a snow sports destination. The landscape changes dramatically with the seasons, offering different experiences whether you're camping in summer wildflower season or enjoying the golden hues of autumn.

The campground's location in the national forest means you're surrounded by protected land with minimal commercial development. This translates to darker night skies perfect for stargazing, healthier air quality, and the genuine sights and sounds of nature. Whether you're an angler hoping to catch trout, a photographer seeking mountain vistas, a hiker exploring alpine terrain, or simply someone wanting to disconnect and breathe clean mountain air, White Pass Lake Campground delivers an authentic camping experience that showcases why Washington's Cascade region remains a cherished destination for RV travelers and nature lovers alike.
