We stayed in a yurt and it was fun. Super friendly camp host. It was fun to hear all the squirrels and other critters. Nice lake, nice place.

Wonderful place! You can hike around the lake and enjoy piceful camping in the woods! The only downside is the lack of showers- but you can swim in the lake. Also, cleanest restrooms and nice, friendly hosts make everything better! We enjoyed our 3 day camping trip and will definitely come back soon!

Hidden Gem—Just Bring Wipes! 😅 ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4.5 stars) We camped at Coho a year ago, and I totally forgot to leave a review—so here it is (finally)! We didn’t have a reservation (everything online was booked), so we winged it and showed up around 9 AM, hoping to snag a first-come, first-served site. At first, no luck—so we drove to the nearest town to get service and search for other options. We... At first, no luck—so we drove to the nearest town to get service and search for other options. We found another campground, but it was quite a drive. Before heading that way, we decided to check back at Coho one last time—and I’m so glad we did! Around 10–10:30 AM, someone happened to be packing up (checkout is at 11 AM), and we got lucky with Site #6. It wasn’t technically a group site, but it worked perfectly for us! We fit 4 tents, 2 hammocks with stands, chairs, and a foldable table—plenty of space for a big group. This campground is amazing! You really feel like you’re deep in the woods. The lake is large and crystal clear, and the campground hosts were so kind and helpful. They even have a little pop-up store now, which was super convenient. Things to Do: 1. Jump in the lake for a swim or fish off the rocks 2. Hike the nearby trails 3. Take a scenic drive to see the beautiful and popular Wynoochee Falls The Pros: • Peaceful and forested setting • Clean, flushable restrooms • Gorgeous lake views and wildlife • Friendly hosts and a small camp store The Cons: 1. The lake was a bit of a walk from Site #6 2. No showers 3. First-come sites can be hard to secure—especially during peak season Honestly, the lack of showers was the biggest downside. With such a big swim-friendly lake nearby, it would make total sense to add some! Fingers crossed they do that soon. Still, we had a total blast and can’t wait to come back. We did try to return a few weeks ago (July 2025), but sadly had no luck and ended up at Shafer State Park instead. Hopefully next time we’ll get lucky again!

Wynoochie Lake is so quiet and peaceful. Coho camp is very remote off the main highways, so it's a bit of a drive with some dirt road if you shortcut. I stayed at one of the loop B reserved sites that have a dappled view of the lake through the trees. You can take a path down to the lake from your campsite - I suggest hiking shoes, steep on the trail, and steep and rocky at the shore. Fishing is a... Wynoochie Lake is so quiet and peaceful. A bit pricey for one person but if you have a group (2 cars or a large RV or camper, or boat as boats are allowed on the lake, there is a really nice and roomy boat launch) it would be more worth it as it's kind of pricey. The bathrooms are pretty clean, and there is unlimited potable water, but no showers, which is another reason why this loop would be ideal for RVs. There is 1st come 1st served tent sites also, and beautiful walk-in sites that I'm guessing are less expensive.
