About Mt St Helens RV Resort

Campground in Washington.

Nestled in the shadow of one of America's most dramatic natural wonders, Mt St Helens RV Resort offers an unforgettable gateway to exploring the volcanic landscape and pristine wilderness of southwestern Washington. This strategically located park serves as an ideal base camp for adventurers, nature enthusiasts, and families looking to experience the power and beauty of Mount St. Helens and the surrounding Cascade region.

The Mount St. Helens area represents one of the most dynamic and visually stunning volcanic landscapes in North America. The 1980 eruption fundamentally transformed the mountain and surrounding terrain, creating a natural laboratory where visitors can witness nature's remarkable recovery and resilience. More than four decades later, the landscape continues to evolve, with forests regenerating, wildflowers returning to previously barren slopes, and wildlife reclaiming their habitat. This ongoing transformation makes every visit unique and educational.

From the resort, you'll find easy access to the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, where numerous trails and viewpoints showcase different perspectives of the crater and surrounding peaks. The Johnston Ridge Observatory provides stunning vistas and interpretive exhibits explaining the eruption's geology and aftermath. For those seeking more immersive experiences, hiking trails range from easy walks suitable for families to challenging backcountry adventures for experienced outdoor enthusiasts. The Mirror Lake Trail offers particularly rewarding views, reflecting the dramatic mountain scenery in its crystal-clear waters.

Beyond volcano viewing, the region boasts exceptional opportunities for fishing, wildlife watching, and photography. The surrounding national forests provide endless exploration possibilities, with access to pristine lakes, rushing streams, and old-growth forest ecosystems. Seasonal wildflower displays create spectacular natural gardens across the landscape.

This location appeals to geology enthusiasts eager to understand volcanic processes, photographers capturing dramatic mountain vistas, families creating outdoor memories, and anyone seeking to reconnect with nature's raw power and beauty. The proximity to both natural attractions and small-town amenities makes Mt St Helens RV Resort a perfect launching point for an unforgettable Pacific Northwest adventure.

The only RV campground I have ever seen that has a sign posted, Not responsible for injuries or if you get bitten. Really!?!

Owners are friendly enough—they're right there on the property—but everything else feels like it's been slowly rotting since the sale three or four years back. Straight-up gross—haven't seen paint since the eighties, and I'd get a tetanus shot before stepping in. Rec room's now just a junkyard for the boss's crap. Laundry's ancient and filthy; your clothes might come out worse than they went in. Dog park's basically a weed jungle—good luck finding your pup. Lots are almost gravel-less and sloppy after rain; mud everywhere. Only real win? It's dead quiet. If you want peace and don't mind living like you're in a post-apocalyptic trailer park, knock yourself out.

We were warmly greeted and checked in by two nice people. That’s why we gave them a 3. We have been to lots of Good Sam parks but this was the most run down. Our site was just gravel with an ancient splintery picnic table. Didn’t expect to have no sewer hookups. Bathrooms were dirty. Trash all around in the play area. Lots of obviously permanent residents.
