About Bogachiel State Park Campground

Campground in Washington.

Nestled in the lush temperate rainforest of Washington's Olympic Peninsula, Bogachiel State Park Campground offers RV travelers an immersive experience in one of the Pacific Northwest's most enchanting natural settings. This 112-acre park sits along the scenic Bogachiel River, a pristine waterway that winds through old-growth forest and creates an atmosphere of profound tranquility that instantly transports visitors away from the everyday world.

The park's location in Forks, Washington places it at the gateway to some of the region's most iconic natural attractions. The nearby Hoh Rainforest, one of the most temperate rainforests in North America, is just a short drive away and offers visitors the chance to walk among massive Sitka spruces, western red cedars, and moss-draped trees that create an almost otherworldly landscape. The park also provides excellent access to coastal destinations along the rugged Olympic Coast, where dramatic sea stacks and tide pools await exploration.

Bogachiel State Park itself is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. The river that runs through the property is renowned for its salmon and steelhead fishing, making it a premier destination for anglers during peak seasons. Hiking trails wind through the surrounding forest, offering opportunities to spot local wildlife including black bears, elk, and a variety of bird species. The sound of the river creates a constant, soothing backdrop that defines the camping experience here.

The area's climate brings frequent rainfall, which is essential to maintaining the verdant rainforest ecosystem but also means visitors should come prepared for wet weather. This moisture creates ideal conditions for hikers and nature photographers seeking that authentic Pacific Northwest rainforest experience. Spring and summer offer the most pleasant weather, though hardy travelers can enjoy the park's quiet beauty during fall and winter months as well.

The small town of Forks provides essential services and supplies, while still maintaining the remote, peaceful character that makes this region special. This is the ideal destination for RV travelers seeking solitude, natural beauty, and genuine connection with one of America's most unique ecosystems.

Campsite was good sized, close to river, trail, the grounds were well kept, and bathroom was clean. It is located near the road but noise was not a problem.

Great state park location, conveniently near Forks grocery store and easy to get on 101 to go to the National Park. Site 32 is very large and can easily hold a bigger tent (gazelle T4 plus pictured here)
