About CDNST - Deep Jack Trailhead

The Deep Jack Trailhead provides access to the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail after June 15 each year. The trailhead is located on Forest Road 830 in the Sierra Madre Range and is managed by the Brush Creek/Hayden Ranger District. The trail winds through mixed conifer forest. The trail is marked with rock cairns, posts

The surrounding area is characterized by dramatic terrain, dense forests, and sweeping vistas that capture the essence of Wyoming's natural heritage. The trailhead access provides direct entry into backcountry exploration, making this location particularly appealing to hikers, backpackers, and outdoor enthusiasts who want to venture beyond their RV into the surrounding wilderness. The Wyoming landscape here offers stunning photography opportunities, especially during sunrise and sunset when the light transforms the terrain into something truly magical. Wildlife viewing is common in this area, and visitors may encounter elk, mule deer, and various bird species throughout the seasons.
