About Upper Passage Creek

Campground in Wyoming.

Upper Passage Creek Campground offers an authentic high-country camping experience in the heart of Wyoming's natural splendor. Nestled in a region known for its stunning mountain vistas and pristine wilderness, this public campground provides an ideal basecamp for travelers seeking to escape the crowds and immerse themselves in authentic outdoor recreation.

With just twelve sites, Upper Passage Creek maintains an intimate, uncrowded atmosphere that appeals to RV enthusiasts who value a more secluded camping experience. The smaller size of this facility means you'll enjoy a quieter setting where you can truly connect with nature while still having access to basic camping infrastructure. This is the kind of place where starry nights are genuinely dark and quiet mornings feature only the sounds of wildlife and flowing water.

The surrounding landscape showcases classic Wyoming terrain with dramatic elevation changes, evergreen forests, and the kind of mountain scenery that makes the region so special. Passage Creek itself adds to the natural appeal, providing opportunities for those interested in fishing and water-based activities. The elevation and location mean cooler temperatures, making this an excellent summer destination for RVers looking to escape hotter regions.

This area appeals to a diverse range of outdoor enthusiasts. Hikers will find excellent access to backcountry trails and day-hiking opportunities in the surrounding mountains. Fishing enthusiasts appreciate the proximity to creek and stream fishing. Wildlife viewers and nature photographers will find plenty of opportunities to capture the region's beauty and observe native animals in their natural habitat. The peaceful setting also attracts those simply looking for a quiet retreat where they can relax by their RV and enjoy the mountain air.

The remote character of this campground means visitors should come prepared and stock up on supplies before arriving. The tradeoff for this relative isolation is authentic wilderness camping that feels worlds away from developed areas. It's perfect for experienced RV travelers who appreciate the rugged appeal of public lands camping and don't need elaborate amenities to enjoy a quality outdoor experience.

It's only a few steps to get there for the amazing view, I know lower falls are higher than Niagara, it's totally worth visiting.

Very nice spot. Easy access and short but careful hike. The downhill and uphill could make you work hard depending on your fitness level

The Upper Falls View is magnificent! It has a relatively larger parking lot to accommodate more cars/buses. Except the falls, the rocks are spectacular as well and great for pictures.

Definitely a must stop. You can get great views from either side of the canyon. Most of the good viewing areas have concrete walkways. However, at this place, follow the dirt trail to the left. It gets you up close and personal. Remember bear spray!
