Parker, Colorado Weekend Warrior Member since Mar 2026

My name is Sean Hakes, Founder of RV Parks US. Our family has been RVing for just over 16 years. We've had the fortune opportunity to full time for a bit during COVID, visit hundreds of campgrounds, test dozens of campers / RVs and are eager to share our stories, but learn from our communities as well! RV Parks US was created to not only share campground thrills, but a place to earn money through content creation, sharing images and experiences, as well as easily book your favorite campground, and plan trips through our free and easy to use tools!

Lakewood Camping Resort

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Our favorite SC Go-To!

We’ve been coming to Lakewood Camping Resort for about 7 years now, and it’s one of those places that just sticks with you—in the best way possible. Our first visit was great… but it was the second trip that really sealed it. What was supposed to be a short stay somehow turned into three months. Yep—three months. That alone probably tells you everything you need to know. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up buying a home down the road in Pawleys Island. Not exactly a typical campground “review outcome,” but that’s the kind of effect this place can have. What makes Lakewood special isn’t just one thing—it’s the combination of everything. The staff has always been incredibly friendly and welcoming, which goes a long way when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a weekend. You never feel like just another site number. The amenities are solid across the board—plenty to do whether you’re traveling with family or just looking to relax. And then there’s the beach access… which is honestly hard to beat. Being able to go from your RV to the sand in minutes is something that never gets old. It’s one of those places where you can be as active or as laid-back as you want. Some days you’re out exploring, other days you’re just soaking it all in with a cup of coffee and an ocean breeze. Either way, it delivers. We’ve stayed at a lot of campgrounds over the years, and Lakewood is one we keep coming back to—and that probably says more than anything else. If you’re heading to the Myrtle Beach area and looking for a spot that feels a little more like a destination than just a place to park, this one’s absolutely worth it.
